I'm often shyly asked about some of the more risque collections we stock and my answer is always a simple one "I'd wear everything we've got on the site!".
Every few months, Inna - our Merchandiser and Client Relations Manager (and my lingerie coach) - sit down for the seasonal buyings from our resident designers as well as new brands on the scene. Generally with overall consensus and some negotiation, we select what we believe are the most beautiful, outstanding, and qualitative collections - the pieces we love. Once the collections start to land in our online store, I begin to select my personal favourites, mostly because I can't resist the temptation - I did afterall start this business because I love lingerie!
So I thought to share my AW16 favourites with you ahead of the holidays for some personal tips and guidance into your Christmas shopping.
Over the past year I started to opt for less padded bras; partly for comfort, partly for the trend and partly because lace on skin is utterly feminine. But if you're not blessed with C+ cup breasts, you still want to maintain 'some' shape under those thick chunky knits and this neutral coloured grey and lace bra with built in padding is the one.
This was our OH WOW set of the season. Not only is this a gorgeous gift to give your partner, but it wears beautifully under a wide or V neck top with a bit of peekaboo effect and as always, Fleur doesn't make anything that has anything less than a perfect fit, making this a very wearable bra for everyday. The ouvert brief is a seductive add-on for special occasions and gifting.
Either you love leopard print or you don't. But if you do, you can never have enough of it and like me, probably categorise it as a 'neutral'. Luisa pulls it off marvelously, no small feat when mixing leopard with leather. The result is a very sexy set that wears comfortably (it's lambskin leather which means super soft) and is a great winter addition to your lingerie drawer.
This new brand on the block is this season's darling and it's easy to see why. Surprising and fun colour combos, the softest mesh and lace, good support and an affordable price. The toughest question is: which colour set do you choose???
Olivia's signature silk PJs inspired by Coco Chanel have become a wardrobe staple in sleepwear and outerwear amongst celebrities, editors and fans the world over. Though I owned set from a few seasons back, I couldn't resist the fun, personal Astrid print of AW16 with its hand-drawn illustrations of London landmarks as well as Olivia's horses and dog Bathtub (heart).
As the temperatures drop, you need to layer and this uber soft on the skin modal jersey body from Kriss Soonik is a life saver. No panty lines, check. Warmth preserved, check. The signature suspender clip on the straps is a fun detail if you're wearing an off-shoulder jumper!
Designer Leanna knows luxury. This jewelled-tone velvet, floor-length kimono is a true indulgence. Our description sums it up best: "The sumptuous fabric drifts around the body like a dream, flashing enticing glimpses of skin through subtly sheer devoré patterning." If the price is a bit too steep for you, a wonderful alternative is the Andromeda Sheer Velvet-Effect robe.
As our favourite song goes, 'these are a few of my favourite things'.
As always, don't hesitate to chat us up for any help with your shopping.
