Collection Inspiration - Bordelle Spring/Summer '15
Waiting for Bordelle’s new season look book is to us what the Pirelli calendar is to the rest of the world.
Always drawing inspiration from empowered women, Bordelle Founder & Creative Director Alexandra Popa surprises us with her avant-garde Spring/Summer 2015 muses.

A night at the cabaret
A glance at Bordelle’s collection mood-board transports us to the intensely seductive and highly electric atmosphere of Havana’s hot Tropicana Club, the exotic Calypso Cabaret of Bangkok, and Paris’ burlesque Lido and infamous Folies Bergere.
The new season collection is inspired by the "all-singing, all-dancing, high-kicking showgirls" of these historically world famous cabarets, where extravagant feathered headpieces reign and swaying curves thrill.
Kiki, Queen of Montparnasse
One showgirl in particular stood out; the legendary French showgirl, model and artist Alice Prin, more famously known as Kiki, Queen of Montparnasse.
"Her wild life, fabulously debauched lifestyle and independent spirit have been channeled into the collection’s key looks", states Alex.
A muse to Man Ray and model to artists; in true Bordelle spirit, Kiki was audacious, outspoken and independent.
"[Kiki was] about as close as people get nowadays to being a Queen, but that, of course, is very different from being a lady." – Ernest Hemingway
Renown for its use of rich, warm hues, this season Bordelle sees the introduction of vivid colours offset with signature black details, making use of French lace and silk.
In addition to the show-stopping bondage-inspired pieces, Bordelle continues to include everyday, wearable sets that allow for comfort without compromising on the brand’s seduction, while the numerous adjustable straps on the bras allow for a range of sizes.
